Eleven months and walking!!

We are walking...finally!! I know that eleven months is by no means "late" when talking about walking. However, Kaleb has been pulling up and walking around furniture since before Thanksgiving...that was THREE months ago!! But, that's ok...we are walking now!! The best part about him walking is that he gets soooo excited while doing it!

Way to go baby!! I am soooo proud of what a big boy you have become!!

And now I am going to go cry about what a big boy he has become...

Random pictures!

I finally downloaded the pictures off of my camera and found some cute ones that I just had to share!!

This is Miss Ava~the future Mrs. Kaleb Strong! She is six weeks younger than Kaleb and the daughter of our good friends Sam and Kinsey Johnson. She came over to play a few weeks ago. Both Ava and Kaleb are kept by Gammies, Grandmas or Papas, so they don't get daily interaction with other kids. They played together AMAZINGLY!!

I feel like this picture is 'little kevin' and 'little sam'!

The other day Kevin cleaned out the refridgerator so naturally, Kaleb needed to assist!

Bathtime is reserved for Daddy/Kaleb time. I try to avoid the bathroom (mostly out of fear of what I'll see--Daddies just don't take the same 'care' that mommies do when it comes to babies in water). But on this particular night I couldn't avoid the laughter and calls from Kevin as Kaleb giggled away at his 'bubble beard'!

For Valentine's Day, Kevin's mom (Grandma Kay) offered to babysit while we went out for dinner. When we got home, this is what I saw through the front door! I was able to get inside and get the camera to snap a pic before he moved! (They were watching tv--and no, he never lays still and watches tv with me)

Sunday=Funday

Kaleb has gotten really into "peek a boo" with any blanket he can find. He also loves to play under the kitchen table. So, we decided that it was definitely fort time! I started off with the kitchen chairs pushed together and covered with a blanket...this was met by a blank stare from Kaleb and Kevin's "whispered" comment "Mommy doesn't know how to make a fort. Daddy will make you a fort". This entailed our couch being on it's side (propped up by the seat cushions), the kitchen chairs holding up the 'roof' and four different blankets draped strategically across the top.

This was an instant hit...

Kaleb and I could both fit inside and had plenty of room to spare!

Most of the 'fort time' was spent crawling in one side and out the other and giggling all the way!

And of course, no funday is complete without some Daddy and Big Bear wrestling!

Aquarium+Kaleb=FANTASTIC

We went to the Downtown Houston Aquarium on Saturday. I knew that Kaleb would LOVE this trip because of his love for fish. After all, fish is one of the only words he says consistantly and without prompting! We knew it would be kind of expensive (even with the buy one get one coupons I found online) so I was kind of nervous that it would be worth it with Kaleb being so young. Boy was I nervous for nothing! Kaleb was the best kind of excited. You know that kind of excited where you can't even smile...you are just staring with your mouth open and kind of bouncing and waving...yeah that kind of excited!! It was priceless! Below are some of the pictures we got. Most of them are Kaleb looking into the aquariums, but there was also a discovery center and Tiger exhibit.

The discovery center had a shallow tank with stingrays swimming up for you to touch. Kaleb loved getting to splash in the water. Then he realized that there was a fish that he could touch and he got REALLY excited!

That fish looks really evil...

Kaleb loved the exhibits that had low walls for him to hold on to...
But, even then he couldn't get quite close enough!

This is my favorite! It really captures his awe and makes you wonder what was going through his mind!

There was a white tiger exhibit at the end. It was really cool to watch them!

Unfortunately, this was also cutting into nap time!! Take note of the VERY sleepy eyes!

We also went on a train ride that stopped in a tunnel full of sharks. It was REALLY cool, unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures of it! Kaleb couldn't decide what to do. He kept turning in circles, and crawling from Poppy to Daddy, to make sure that he didn't miss anything.
I think that a sign of a good day is a baby that passes smooth out within 5 minutes of getting into the car!!

This was DEFINITELY a good time!! Who knew being a parent could be soooo much fun! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
