Sunday=Funday

Kaleb has gotten really into "peek a boo" with any blanket he can find. He also loves to play under the kitchen table. So, we decided that it was definitely fort time! I started off with the kitchen chairs pushed together and covered with a blanket...this was met by a blank stare from Kaleb and Kevin's "whispered" comment "Mommy doesn't know how to make a fort. Daddy will make you a fort". This entailed our couch being on it's side (propped up by the seat cushions), the kitchen chairs holding up the 'roof' and four different blankets draped strategically across the top.

This was an instant hit...

Kaleb and I could both fit inside and had plenty of room to spare!

Most of the 'fort time' was spent crawling in one side and out the other and giggling all the way!

And of course, no funday is complete without some Daddy and Big Bear wrestling!

Aquarium+Kaleb=FANTASTIC

We went to the Downtown Houston Aquarium on Saturday. I knew that Kaleb would LOVE this trip because of his love for fish. After all, fish is one of the only words he says consistantly and without prompting! We knew it would be kind of expensive (even with the buy one get one coupons I found online) so I was kind of nervous that it would be worth it with Kaleb being so young. Boy was I nervous for nothing! Kaleb was the best kind of excited. You know that kind of excited where you can't even smile...you are just staring with your mouth open and kind of bouncing and waving...yeah that kind of excited!! It was priceless! Below are some of the pictures we got. Most of them are Kaleb looking into the aquariums, but there was also a discovery center and Tiger exhibit.

The discovery center had a shallow tank with stingrays swimming up for you to touch. Kaleb loved getting to splash in the water. Then he realized that there was a fish that he could touch and he got REALLY excited!

That fish looks really evil...

Kaleb loved the exhibits that had low walls for him to hold on to...
But, even then he couldn't get quite close enough!

This is my favorite! It really captures his awe and makes you wonder what was going through his mind!

There was a white tiger exhibit at the end. It was really cool to watch them!

Unfortunately, this was also cutting into nap time!! Take note of the VERY sleepy eyes!

We also went on a train ride that stopped in a tunnel full of sharks. It was REALLY cool, unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures of it! Kaleb couldn't decide what to do. He kept turning in circles, and crawling from Poppy to Daddy, to make sure that he didn't miss anything.
I think that a sign of a good day is a baby that passes smooth out within 5 minutes of getting into the car!!

This was DEFINITELY a good time!! Who knew being a parent could be soooo much fun! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Play Date!!

This weekend we had our first real play date! We went to visit our friends Krystal & Jax and Kelly & Mason. Jaxson is 15 months old and Mason is almost 8 weeks old. Krystal, Kelly and I all went to high school together, so we love to get together and catch up on all the gossip!! Now, it's even more fun with all of our beautiful boys!! I got some good pictures, but of course, the cameras were never around when something really cute was happening! And, for some reason we did not get any pictures of all three boys together!! But here's some that I did get.

This is Krystal & Jax.
Jaxson had soooo many fun toys. I think the biggest hit was his ball pit! Kaleb kept crawling in and out of it all day long. He even just sat in it looking around for a little while. There were so many great picture opportunities with the boys in the ballpit that we could never catch...but here's what I did get.

Jax and Kaleb were really interested in the little tv that showed baby Mason sleeping.

Finally, Mason was up to play! (or lay around smiling!) Kaleb wanted to "pet" him soooo bad!

Jaxson and Kaleb had the best time playing with Jax's 4 wheeler. Jax would push the button and Kaleb would hold on. It was hysterical!

We had such a GREAT time and can't wait for another play date!!

I Know...I'm Sorry...Here we go...

Ok, I know I have been a terrible blogger. I am trying to play catch up, so I have added a few posts from the past month. I PROMISE I will do better! I may not post every day, but I promise to get more than one post per month!! So, here you go!!!

Chocolate...Cream...Puff...

Need I say More???

He Is His Gammie's Boy!!

PaPa Chet

In one of our many trips this Christmas vacation, we traveled to Hemphill, Tx to let Kaleb meet Kevin's Grandpa and Aunt Barbara. Papa Chet was pretty much in love at first sight (of course it would take a heart of pure steel to not fall in love with Kaleb!) Kevin has soooo many stories of summers spent with his grandparents on the Toledo Bend Resovoir and after just one trip, I cannot wait for Kaleb to have those same memories!! At 83 years old Papa Chet isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He's in better shape than me!! Here's a few good shots I got!

Santa's First Visit

So, of course Santa made his first visit to our house this year!! Kaleb didn't quite understand what the big deal was...and he really didn't understand why he couldn't eat the cookies!!

Santa brought Kaleb a GIGANTIC teddy bear, a rolling alligator, an activity table and of course, a stocking full of goodies!!

Then, as an added bonus, Grandma Kay let him have some early morning chocolate!!
